Itinerary

This tour begins in Marrakech and ends in Chefchaouen; it includes one night in the Dades Gorges, two nights in the Merzouga desert, and two nights in Fes.

Day 1

Marrakech – The High Atlas Mountains (Tizi`n Tichka) – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorge. 

We depart from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 AM, heading south across the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m)—the highest in North Africa. We will visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the oldest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site; this location has served as the set for numerous films, including *Gladiator*, *Ali Baba*, and *Lawrence of Arabia*. After lunch, we continue to the wonderful city of Ouarzazate (known as the "City of Cinema"), where we will stop to visit or take photos of the film studios. We will then travel along the "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs," stopping in the Valley of the Roses (the production season and Rose Festival take place in May; there are cooperatives where we can stop if you are interested in seeing artisanal products made from these unique roses) before continuing to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night. Accommodation at a Kasbah hotel, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2

Dades – Todra Gorge – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel excursion – Luxury camp.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to the Todra Valley and Gorges; we will explore the area and marvel at the towering vertical cliffs—rising over 300 meters—that seem to close in as you walk through. We will travel through the groves of the Tinjdad palm oasis and visit the town of Erfoud, renowned for its marble and fossils (a visit can be arranged if you are interested). In the afternoon, we will arrive at the breathtaking dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), where we will swap our 4x4 for "8x8" dromedaries; riding them, we will cross the dunes to reach a secluded tent camp in the heart of the desert. There, weather permitting, you can admire the starry night sky amidst the magical silence of the desert. To cap off this spectacular day, following dinner, we will enjoy a "drum party"—an unforgettable night.

Day 3

Merzouga – Visit Nomads – Khamlia – Quad Bike Tour.

 An outdoor day in the Sahara Desert, to take advantage of the silence and peace it conveys—an experience you can enjoy only here.

Today, we will explore the Merzouga desert. We will take a 4x4 tour through the Sahara, traversing the dunes and visiting nomadic villages to experience desert life firsthand. Afterward, we will stop in the village of Khamlia to relax with tea while enjoying traditional spiritual Gnawa music (a genre with roots in Sudan, originating from enslaved people). We will return to the hotel to rest before heading out on quads, motorcycles, or horseback for an adrenaline-filled ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will watch the sunset from the highest peaks. Finally, we will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Merzouga-Erfoud-Valley and Gorges of Ziz-Midelt-Azrou-Ifrane-Fez.

We will wake up before sunrise to witness the beautiful desert dawn from the top of the Great Dune. Leaving the reddish Sahara dunes behind, we will continue by vehicle toward Erfoud. Next, we will head to Azrou, passing through the Ziz Valley and Gorges—where we will stop for photos—and continue to Midelt for a lunch break. Afterward, we will stop at the magnificent ancient cedar forests, home to monkeys (of the same species found in Gibraltar). We will then proceed to the city of Ifrane, located in the Middle Atlas Mountains and known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" due to its Northern European-style architecture; there, we will stop to visit the town center. Finally, we will arrive in the city of Fez in the mid-afternoon and transfer you to your accommodation, where breakfast is included.

Day 5

Guided tour of Fez.

After breakfast, we will visit the city of Fez today. Your local guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the tour, starting with the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish quarter—the first Mellah, built in the 16th century. We will ensure you visit all sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest in the world), the tanneries, and the Attarin Museum. Afterward, you will visit a traditional pottery cooperative and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez (the second-largest in the world). Overnight stay at the same accommodation, with breakfast included.

Day 6

 Fez – Chefchaouen

This is the eighth and final day of your tour covering Marrakech, the desert, and northern Morocco. The day begins with breakfast at your Riad, followed by a drive to the "Blue City," where we will drop you off at your hotel or Riad in Chefchaouen. Depending on your arrival time, you might choose to spend some free time strolling through this beautiful Andalusian-style town nestled in the heart of the Rif Mountains. We will take you to your chosen location, where our services conclude; we hope you have enjoyed the tour and leave with wonderful memories and a desire to return for another travel experience in Morocco.
