A tour of Morocco starting and ending in Marrakech. This trip includes 3 nights in Marrakech, 1 night in the spectacular Dades Gorges, and 2 nights in the Merzouga desert, where you can enjoy a unique experience amidst dunes, Berber camps, and Sahara landscapes. An ideal tour for discovering Morocco's imperial cities, oases, and desert all in one trip.

Itinerary

This tour begins and ends in Marrakech and includes 3 nights in Marrakech, 1 night in the Dades Gorges, and 2 nights in the Merzouga desert.

Day 1

Arrival in Marrakech – Welcome to Morocco

We will pick you up at Marrakech airport at your scheduled arrival time and take you to the Riad, located in the heart of the Marrakech medina—very close to the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the city's great market. You will have the afternoon free to explore the city a bit and dine in the square or the surrounding area in the evening. Overnight stay at the Riad.

Day 2

Visit Marrakech.

After breakfast, you will tour Marrakech, visiting sites such as the exterior of the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace (optional interior visit), as well as the Majorelle Garden—home to the world's largest and most spectacular cactus collection—where you can also visit the Berber Museum and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (optional visit). As this is a completely private and exclusive tour, the proposed itinerary is merely a suggestion; you are free to request any alternative route you prefer. The tour will conclude at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, or, if you wish, the guide can accompany you back to your accommodation. 

Day 3

Marrakech – The High Atlas Mountains (Tizi`n Tichka) – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorge. 

We depart from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:30 AM, heading south across the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass (2,260m)—the highest in North Africa. We will visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the oldest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site; this location has served as the set for numerous films, including *Gladiator*, *Ali Baba*, and *Lawrence of Arabia*. After lunch, we continue to the wonderful city of Ouarzazate (known as the "City of Cinema"), where we will stop to visit or take photos of the film studios. We will then travel along the "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs," stopping in the Valley of the Roses (the production season and Rose Festival take place in May; we can visit local cooperatives if you are interested in seeing artisanal products made from these unique roses) before continuing to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night. Accommodation at a Kasbah hotel, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4

Dades – Todra Gorge – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel excursion – Luxury camp.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to the Todra Valley and Gorges; we will explore the area and marvel at the towering vertical cliffs—rising over 300 meters—that seem to close in as you walk through. We will travel through the groves of the Tinjdad palm oasis and visit the town of Erfoud, renowned for its marble and fossils (a visit can be arranged if you are interested). In the afternoon, we will arrive at the breathtaking dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), where we will swap our 4x4 for "8x8" dromedaries; riding them, we will cross the dunes to reach a secluded tent camp in the heart of the desert. There, weather permitting, you can admire the starry night sky amidst the magical silence of the desert. To cap off this spectacular day, following dinner, we will enjoy a "drum party"—an unforgettable night.

Day 5

Merzouga – Visit Nomads – Khamlia – Quad Bike Tour.

An outdoor day in the Sahara Desert, to take advantage of the silence and peace it conveys—an experience you can enjoy only here.

Today, we will explore the Merzouga desert. We will take a 4x4 tour through the Sahara, traversing the dunes and visiting nomadic villages to experience desert life firsthand. Afterward, we will stop in the village of Khamlia to relax with tea while enjoying traditional spiritual Gnawa music (a genre with roots in Sudan, originating from enslaved people). We will return to the hotel to rest before heading out on quads, motorcycles, or horseback for an adrenaline-filled ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will watch the sunset from the highest peaks. Finally, we will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

 Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After a good breakfast and a shower, we will head to Rissani—Morocco's first imperial city—to visit its legendary market. We will then continue toward Tazzarine, passing through Alnif in the heart of the Mader Basin. Our journey proceeds to the magnificent Draa Valley, a region renowned for its date production and millions of palm trees; after a panoramic view of the valley, we will cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains and finally arrive in Marrakech. Dinner and breakfast at the Riad.

Day 7

Marrakech – Transfer to Marrakech airport.

After breakfast at the Riad, we will head to the airport, arriving three hours before your flight (Marrakech airport is one of the busiest, so it is essential to allow plenty of time to avoid missing your departure). Once at the airport, our magnificent journey through Morocco and the Sahara Desert will come to an end; we hope you have enjoyed the tour and leave with wonderful memories, as well as a desire to return for another travel experience in Morocco.
