The itinerary includes three nights in Fez with an excursion to Chefchaouen—Morocco's famous "Blue City"—and two nights in the Merzouga Desert for an authentic Sahara experience featuring golden dunes, camel rides, and nights beneath a breathtaking starry sky. It also includes one night in the stunning Dades Gorges, surrounded by mountains and natural valleys, and two nights in Marrakech, the vibrant "Red City" steeped in Moroccan history, culture, and tradition. Itinerary
This tour begins in Fez and ends in Marrakech; it includes 3 nights in Fez with a visit to Chefchaouen, 1 night in the Merzouga desert, one night in the Dades Gorges, and 2 nights in Marrakech.
Day 1
Arrival in Fez
Arrival at Fez airport: Pick-up and transfer to the hotel or riad. Free time to enjoy a hammam/spa session or a guided tour of Fez (optional), depending on the arrival time; dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Guided tour of Fez.
After breakfast, we will visit the city of Fez today. Your local guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the tour, starting with the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish quarter—the first Mellah, built in the 16th century. We will ensure you visit all sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest in the world), the tanneries, and the Attarin Museum. Afterward, you will visit a traditional pottery cooperative and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez (the second-largest in the world). Overnight stay at the same accommodation, with breakfast included.
Day 3
Day trip to Chefchaouen from Fez.
We depart from Fez in the morning—after breakfast at the Riad—for Chefchaouen, the "Blue City." We will spend the day exploring its streets and walking through the Medina, admiring the wonders of this beautiful town. In the afternoon, we return to Fez, where we will spend the night at the same accommodation (breakfast included). This excursion covers a total of 422 km and takes the entire day, with our return to the Riad taking place late in the evening. Don't forget your cameras; the unique beauty of this place makes it impossible not to take hundreds of photos.
Day 4
Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel excursion – Camp.
After breakfast at the Riad, we depart for the beautiful city of Ifrane—nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains and known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its Northern European-style architecture—where we will stop to visit the town center. Next, we travel through cedar forests to the city of Midelt for lunch. We then continue toward Errachidia and Erfoud, the true gateway to the desert. In the afternoon, we arrive at the stunning dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi); here, we trade our 4x4 vehicles for dromedaries—our "8x8" transport—and ride across the dunes to a secluded tent camp in the heart of the desert. Weather permitting, you can admire the starry night sky amidst the magical silence of the desert. To cap off this spectacular day, following dinner, we enjoy a celebration featuring drums and flutes—an unforgettable night.
Day 5
Merzouga – Nomads – khamlia.
Enjoy a free day in the Sahara Desert, soaking up the peace and silence that can only be experienced here. Today, we will explore the Merzouga desert. We will tour the Sahara in a 4x4 vehicle, visiting nomadic settlements to experience desert life firsthand. Afterward, we will stop in the village of Khamlia to relax with tea while enjoying traditional spiritual Gnawa music—a genre with roots in Sudan, originating from the slave trade. We will then return to the hotel to take in the sunset views; accommodation includes dinner and breakfast.
Day 6
Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley.
We will wake up before sunrise to witness the beautiful desert dawn from atop the Great Dune. We will then return to the hotel for a delicious breakfast and/or a shower. Leaving the reddish Sahara dunes behind, we head to the ancient city of Rissani—once the country's commercial capital, a tradition that remains alive and well today—known for its authentic, traditional souk. We continue to the stunning Todra Gorges, a majestic canyon featuring towering vertical walls, where we can take a walk and photograph the scenery. Continuing our journey, we arrive at the Todra Gorges to see the sheer, reddish walls rising 300 meters—a haven for rock climbers visiting from all over the world. After lunch, we proceed to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night; dinner and breakfast are included at the Riad.
Day 7
Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech.
After breakfast and a tour of the Dades Gorges, we will begin our journey to Marrakech, stopping first at Ouarzazate. We will make several stops along the way, starting with the Valley of Roses; here, locals produce creams, soaps, and the famous rose water—all made from harvests of roses prized for their unique scent and fragrance. We will continue our drive through the Atlas Mountains to reach the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a major filming location for major productions such as *Game of Thrones*, *The Mummy*, *Son of God*, *Lawrence of Arabia*, *Babel*, and *Gladiator*. Afterward, we will head toward Tizi n'Tichka—the highest mountain pass in North Africa at 2,260 meters above sea level—offering incredible views of the High Atlas Mountains. We will conclude this wonderful journey in Marrakech, where we will spend the night at a Riad. Dinner is at your leisure, allowing you to enjoy the evening in Marrakech—the city that never sleeps.
Day 8
Guided tour of Marrakech.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech with a local guide, visiting—among other sites—the exterior of the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace (optional interior visit), various artisan quarters, and the souks and markets within the medina. You will also visit the Majorelle Garden, home to the world's largest and most spectacular cactus collection, where you have the option to visit the Berber Museum and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. As this is a completely private and exclusive tour, the proposed route is merely a suggestion; you are free to request any alternative itinerary you prefer. The tour concludes at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, or, if you wish, the guide can escort you back to your accommodation.
Day 9
Marrakech – Transfer to Marrakech airport.
After breakfast at the riad, we will head to the airport, arriving three hours before your flight (Marrakech airport is one of the busiest, so it is essential to allow plenty of time to avoid missing your flight). Once at the airport, our magnificent tour of Morocco and the Sahara Desert will come to an end.
